Old/Broken Holiday Lights Collection - Now Through 2/26/2021
The Village of Arlington Heights has a recycling program for old or unusable holiday lights and extension cords from now through February 26th, 2021.
HANA has setup a collection box at 212 W Fremont St that you can conveniently drop items off at. These items will be taken to the village drop-off points for recycling.
Lights that are accepted for this program are: mini-lights (or Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, extension cords, etc. All colors and lengths will be accepted. Garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables are not accepted in this program.
Spring HANA Community-Wide Garage Sale - TBD / Deferred Due to COVID-19
Presently all HANA group events have been put on hold due to COVID-19 safety concerns. We will provide updates on any changes in status of the garage sale event.
Earth Day Neighborhood Cleanup and Celebration - 4/22/2021
While HANA group events have been put on hold due to COVID-19 safety concerns, we can still observe Earth Day as a community by:
Picking up litter in our parks and along our streets
Lowering energy use by trying renewable energy sources and increasing canopy cover (plant a tree!)
Increasing bio-diversity with planting native species of plants (which helps the birds and other wildlife)
