The HANA Community

WHERE

The Historic Arlington Neighborhood Association, HANA, is located in Arlington Heights, Illinois, directly north of the central business district in one of the earliest settled sections of the village.


WHAT

HANA is a not-for-profit geographically based organization established in 1980 serving approximately 600 households. It is governed by a volunteer board of community members that are elected annually.


WHY

HANA is guided by its mission in serving its residents to make our neighborhood a better place to live. We are a diverse community of homes and homeowners, and we value being good neighbors. Read more about Our History.

HANA is conveniently located within walking distance of the downtown Arlington Heights business district which holds many shopping, dining and entertainment destinations, including the seasonal Arlington Alfresco in which sections of the central business district are transformed into pedestrian-only, open-air dining areas. HANA is also within walking distance of the Metra train station, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Arlington Ridge Center Exercise Facility and Indoor Pools, Farmers’ Market, and multiple parks with regular outdoor concerts and events.

HANA serves as an advocate for the best interests of the community by engaging in the following endeavors:

to bring the community together.

Connect HANA neighbors who have needs for services with neighbors and vendors to match those needs. Update and maintain HANA service directory.

Connect HANA neighbors through simple and shared methods of communication, whether it be the newsletter, Facebook page, email list, website or other social media.

Officers and Board

HANA board meetings are held once a month 8 times per year from September through May.
